Parents of Sarah Groves appeal to UK Foreign Secretary for help in trial

The parents of murdered Guernsey woman Sarah Groves have appealed for the help of the UK Foreign Secretary, after countless delays in the trial of her death.

24 year-old Sarah was killed on a houseboat in India in 2013.

Her father, Vic Groves, has now asked Boris Johnson to intervene in the hope of finally reaching a conclusion to the court proceedings.

Dutchman Richard de Wit is on trial for murder and denies the charge.

Last month, Mr Groves said he had fresh hope after a new prosecutor was appointment and for the first time there was direct communication between him and the family.

But the health of de Wit has 'seriously diminished' over the course of the three year trial, according to Sarah's father.

The Foreign Office have said in a statement that they cannot interfere with the legal proceedings of another country.
