Four newcomers have been voted into the States of Alderney, in an election that saw support for established politicians plummet.

Alderney election winner 'well suited to deal with island's transport woes'

James Dent, who topped the polls in the Alderney election, says he is well suited to deal with the island's transport issues.

Four new States members were elected to Alderney's government over the weekend.

Only one politician retained his seat, with more than two thirds of islanders turning out to vote.

Mr Dent sits on the Aurigny Review Committee.

  • Louis Jean - 527 votes
  • Alex Snowdon - 480 votes
  • Mike Dean - 381 votes
  • Tony Barnes - 294 votes
