Politicians in Alderney are expecting a high turnout in the election today.
Polling stations were reportedly busy this morning on the day which will see five new States members appointed.
Voting is set to close at 6.40 pm and an announcement due around 9 pm.
Returning Officer Victor Brownlees believes turnout is so high because of the difficult economic conditions in Alderney at the moment.
