Christian May 'seriously considering' standing for senator

Christian May has said he is "seriously considering" standing for senator, following Zoe Cameron's resignation.

The campaigner, and chairman of charity Liberate, says he sees the vacancy as an opportunity.

He told ITV News he will consult his family and friends before coming to a decision.

I think it's certainly opportunity that I'll be seriously considering. I take on board any opportunity that I can do to serve the island.

I've been doing that with charities like Liberate and Save People's Park, so once I've spoken with my family, my partner and my work, I hope to reach a decision quite quickly.

He also said he hasn't failed to notice certain similarities between what is happening politically in Jersey and the situation in the UK.

There's been quite a few Tweets I've seen online that say 'Cameron out, May in - parallel politics' this morning. So I suppose it's a slightly strange scenario to see and perhaps, who knows, it might be reflected in Jersey.
