Guernsey could vote on Brexit plan today
Politicians in Guernsey could decide how they are going to deal with Brexit today.
A policy letter outlining ideas has already been published.
President of Policy and Resources, Deputy Gavin St Pier, will give a speech outlining those key aims today.
They are:
- Engage with the UK to ensure residents interests are taken into account, to arrange the free movement of goods, to ensure no damage comes to the UK and Guernsey's relationship, to ensure Guernsey is in included in new trade deals with countries outside the EU.
- Seek to protect and secure the best interests of Guernsey in its trading relationship and for those resident in the Bailiwick.
- Take all other necessary measures that may be considered appropriate.
- Policy and Resources Committee will keep States Members advised of progress.
