The parents of a Guernsey woman found dead in India, have accused the Foreign Office of not doing enough to help convict their daughter’s killer.
Today, the trial of the man accused of Sarah Groves' murder was delayed once again, for what Sarah’s father says is the 28th time. He says the reason given was that the judge had to attend a training session.
The trial has been delayed on countless other occasions for reasons such as flooding, security, a change in lawyers, witnesses not turning up and the judge having a backlog of cases to work on.
Sarah's parents are now calling on the Foreign Office to do more.
Mr and Mrs Groves are now seeking discussions with the Foreign Office who, in recent weeks, have not performed as well as previously. They will be requesting that the Office talk to the Public Prosecutor two or three days before each hearing to confirm that it is still scheduled to take place.
The next heading is set for Monday 7th September.
