The first ever colour party has been held in Alderney.
The event is based on the Hindu spring festival of Holi and sees people throw coloured powdered paint at each other.
Hundreds of residents and visitors took part in the fun at Corporation Quarry yesterday as part of Alderney week.
As they entered they were all given ‘I love Alderney Week’ white T-shirts and three packs of coloured powdered paint, before being invited to set them off over each other!
The week of activities continues over the weekend.
The weekend event coincides with International Pride Month and the 51st anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
The scheme has been backed by the island's Lieutenant-Governor, and is the first of its kind in the Channel Islands.
