Alderney week is underway.
The theme of this year's event is cowboys and aliens.
Over the next week there will be a range of activities taking place:
Monday 3rd August: 10 am - blessing of the fleet at the inner harbour. 1.50pm - Cavalcade (floats and classic cars). 2.15 pm - pig races. 5.30 pm - tug of war.
Tuesday 4th August: 10.30 am - giant water fight. 8 pm - Haunted house.
Wednesday 5th August: 10 am - pallet race on Braye beach. 12.15 pm -manpowered flight.
Thursday 6th August: 5.30pm - Festival of Colour at the quarry.
Friday 7th August: 9.30am - fun run, circus workshops, pavement artist competitions for kids
Saturday 8th August: 1 pm - daft raft race. 9 pm - torchlight process.
The weekend event coincides with International Pride Month and the 51st anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
The scheme has been backed by the island's Lieutenant-Governor, and is the first of its kind in the Channel Islands.
