Guernsey’s Town Carnival will run for an extra week this year having sourced some local talent to keep the carnival going.

It’s all thanks to the Guernsey Arts Commission, who have funded the additional entertainment.

But it's not just about the locals; entertainment is coming from all over, including a five-piece jazz band from the Czech Republic and a group of French performers with a passion for singing, music and humour. There will also be a street magician called Jimbo.

The Town Carnival is the highlight of our annual calendar and this year will be no exception. It never fails to draw huge crowds turning the streets of St Peter Port into a vibrant fortnight of music and entertainment. This year is a big year for us as we have been able to extend the Carnival by a week, allowing local performers to showcase their talents to the public.

– Jack Honeybill, Executive Officer of the Town Centre Partnership.

The carnival kicks off on Saturday 18th July and will run until 1st August.
