Cycling: Ashton thrilled to win on tough local course

Jersey cyclist Kim Ashton made it a golden double at these Games after adding the women's road race title to the time trial one she won earlier this week.

Ashton said it wasn't a race she was particularly looking forward to because of how brutal the course was, but worked together with her team-mates to stay in contention.

It was a late charge from St Catherine's that proved to be the crucial break for the Caesarean who decided at that point it was 'all or nothing'.
