Ferguson calls for Senatorial recount

Outgoing Senator Sarah Ferguson is demanding a recount of all the Senatorial votes from last week's General Election after losing office by just a few hundred votes.

She came 9th in the vote out of 18 candidates vying for one of the 8 available Senatorial seats.

I have asked for a recount of the recent Senatorial Election as there is a difference substantially less than 1% between the total votes cast for me and the 8th placed candidate.

This gives me the legal right to call for a recount. There are also potential structural problems with the election law which have been brought to my attention by another States Member. The Assistant Judicial Greffier is conducting an investigation into these. Until all this work is completed I have nothing substantive to add to this statement.
