Channel Islands donate nearly £300,000 to millions starving in East Africa
Jersey and Guernsey have announced nearly a quarter of a million pounds in aid to help people starving in East Africa.
The Jersey Overseas Aid is sending £200,000 to countries including South Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya.
The Overseas Aid & Development Commission in Guernsey is donating almost £100,000 to feed families in South Sudan, where famine has been declared.

Over 16 million people are in urgent need of food, a situation caused by years of conflict.
Famine has been declared in South Sudan, where people are dying of hunger.
Other countries affected include Ethiopia, Somalia and northern Kenya.
The Overseas Aid & Development Commission has donated the money to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
