Cycling: Bronze for 16-year-old Downton

Guernsey youngster Megan Downton put in a stunning performance to take bronze in the women's individual mountain bike criterium.

The 16-year-old finished behind the two Macphee sisters from the Western Isles.

Downton was in good company on the podium with gold medalist Kerry Macphee competing for Scotland in the last Commonwealth Games.

Archery: Medals galore for the Channel Islands

The Channel Islands have picked up a host of medals in the head-to-head archery finals this afternoon.

Jersey's Lucy O'Sullivan bounced back from a disappointing first day to win gold in the women's compound final where she beat Guernsey's Gen Witham.

In the women's recurve final it was an all Sarnian affair that saw Lisa Gray come out on top with team-mate Chantelle Goubert taking silver.

Jersey's Mark Renouf is also currently competing in the gold medal match in the men's recurve.

Shooting: Another golden day for Jersey

The gold medals have continued to come for Jersey in the shooting this afternoon.

Three more successes for the host to add to gold Andrew Le Cheminant won in the Fullbore Queens earlier today.

Tennis: Channel Islanders into tennis singles semi-finals

Five Channel Islanders are into the singles semi-finals of the tennis at the Caesarean Club.

For the men, number one seed, Jersey's Scott Clayton, will play fellow Jerseyman Stuart Parker after Clayton beat Guernsey's Dom McLuskey in the last eight.

Sarnian, Patrick Ogier, is also into the last four where he will face the Isle of Man's Billy Harris, the number two seed and singles winner from Bermuda 2013.

In the women's singles, Guernsey's Ella Taylor made light work of Jersey's Eva Hurst in the quarter-finals, progressing without dropping a game. She will face number one seed Tzvetelina Havren, of Gotland, in her semi-final.

Caesarean, Natasha Forrest, is also into the last four where she will play Reegan Greenwood of the Isle of Wight.

Archery: Host of Channel Islanders through to medal matches

It has been a hugely successful morning for the Channel Islands archers at Jersey rugby club with a large number of shooters making it through to the head-to-head medal matches.

Guernsey are guaranteed a gold and silver medal in the women's recurve as the Sarnian pair of Chantelle Goubert and Lisa Gray made their way through to the final.

In the bronze medal match Jersey's Maria Mitchell will have a chance for a medal in her first ever Games.

Elsewhere there will be a Jersey against Guernsey battle for gold in the women's compound as Lucy O'Sullivan faces Gen Witham this afternoon.

In the men's competition Jersey's Mark Renouf will be going for gold in the recurve competition.

Golf: Channel Islanders have a share of the lead in men's competition

Two Channel Islanders currently have a share of the clubhouse lead in the men's individual golf event.

Jersey's Gavin O'Neill has picked up 5 shots on overnight leader Daniel Blondel of Guernsey to share the lead on two under for the tournament.

Bermuda's Will Haddrell also joins those two at the top after shooting a round of 71.

Cycling: Ashton thrilled to win on tough local course

Jersey cyclist Kim Ashton made it a golden double at these Games after adding the women's road race title to the time trial one she won earlier this week.

Ashton said it wasn't a race she was particularly looking forward to because of how brutal the course was, but worked together with her team-mates to stay in contention.

It was a late charge from St Catherine's that proved to be the crucial break for the Caesarean who decided at that point it was 'all or nothing'.
