Jersey's only Summer and Winter Olympian Colin Campbell dies
Jersey's track and field and bobsled Olympian Colin Campbell has died aged 78.
Colin Campbell competed in three Olympic Games during his career: two Summer Olympics and one Winter Olympics.
At the time, he was the second British athlete to have competed in both Games and remains Jersey's only athlete to do so.
In 1968 and 1972, Campbell competed in the 400m and 800m.
He broke the British record in qualifying for the 100m in 1972.
Campbell then competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics in the four-man bobsleighing team.
In total, Colin has represented Great Britain on over 50 occasions, including two Commonwealth Games and four European Championships.
In island, Campbell was the founder President of Jersey Spartan Athletic Club and helped to set up tennis facilities at Les Ormes.
