Rubble on Jersey's Pier Road after car smashes through stone wall

A major road has been forced to close in Jersey after a car crashed into a wall causing dramatic damage.

Officers from Jersey Police were called to Pier Road at around 6:45am on Tuesday 31 December.

A single car had crashed into a wall, causing significant damage to the road itself and the road below.

No one is believed to be injured.

Sections of Pier Road and Le Quai aux Marchands are closed and diversions are in place due to fallen rock and rubble on the road.

A cordon is in place, officers are at the scene and an accident investigation is underway.

Jersey Police shared a post on social media this morning.

They add: "We are currently dealing with a Road Traffic Collision on Pier Road.

"Please avoid the area including Commercial Buildings and Mount Bingham for the time being."
