Guernsey man animates music video for festive number one Last Christmas by Wham!
A Guernsey man has played a key part in this year's Christmas number one by animating its official lyric video.
Adam Le Gallez, 27, animated the video for WHAM's 'Last Christmas' which has garnered around 430,000 views.
Adam grew up in Guernsey attending Castel Primary School and Les Beaucamps High before he ventured into animation.
He's since collaborated with Universal Studios, Comedy Central, and Youtuber KSI.
Adam says his friend from the UK first told him about a job to create animated music videos, explaining: "They want to remake George Michael's Careless Whisper in an animated way for their lyric video on their YouTube.
"And so I thought 'Absolutely, who doesn’t like the song?'
"They were really pleased with it and then they said in early November that Christmas is coming up so they wanted to do Last Christmas as well."
George Michael died on Christmas Day in 2016 from heart disease. However, his fellow band member, Andrew Ridgely, took a personal interest in the project.
Adam adds: “I wasn’t aware he was involved in the project until about halfway through when I had sent off my initial portraits of [Andrew].
"He's come back and said 'Looks good, but it would be better if I could look less like a pug.'
"We had to soften all the details, but I think he was happy in the end."
Adam is now working on projects bringing his own creative ideas to life when he has spare time.
He says: "I just wanted to put more time into personal projects because I’d spent a lot of time on the paid work, so you sort or neglect your own creative process.
"I've just taken a bit of time to put together a little song and come up with a little character about otters.
"I’m just putting some work into that every spare moment I get."
