Jersey fire crews tackle fire in St Brelade's

• The Fire Chief and an eyewitness give their reaction to fire in St Brelade's.

Firefighters in Jersey were called to deal with a large fire in St Brelade's last night (Friday 3 September.)

Crews were called to the scene at La Marquanderie at around 9pm where eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions and bangs.

It is believed a furze fire had caused a number of vehicles at the site to catch fire

The fire service were able to quickly get the blaze under control.

Nobody was hurt and teams say there was no immediate risk to local residents.
