Each year, ITV News regions across the UK search for a local Fundraiser of the Year as part of the national Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.

Here in the Channel Islands, four finalists have now been selected form the many nominations we received.

One of those is Mimi House from Alderney, who takes part in marathons and half marathons to raise money for local diabetes charities - a cause that is close to her heart.

Some of her achievements include running the London Marathon and the Guernsey Half Marathon, but she is also known for putting on events, such as bingo and poker nights. They have all helped her to raise £16,000 so far.

The regional winner will be announced during the ITV Channel 6pm news on Friday 2nd October.
