Guernsey's Little Chapel garden plans approved
Renovation plans for Guernsey's Little Chapel can go ahead.
The Development and Planning Authority unanimously approved the three year plan on 4 August.
The Little Chapel Foundation want to renovate the site's gardens, with a focus on improving disability access.
Three years ago, essential restoration works were carried out which are now complete. This work cost more than £500,000, and it is expected to cost this much again over the next three years to complete this new work.
John Silvester, Chairman of the Little Chapel Foundation, is "very pleased" the plans have been approved.
Currently, the Little Chapel site has lots of steps, no hand railings and narrow paths, making it more challenging for disabled people and wheelchair users.
The Little Chapel Foundation relies on donations from the public. They hope all the renovation work will be completed in time for the chapel's 100th birthday in 2023.
