Critical repairs being done to St Thomas' Church Spire in Jersey
St Thomas's Church in St Helier is undergoing £1.3 million worth of repairs to its spire.
The cost of the work to the 19th Century structure is being crowdfunded, with generous islanders donating the money to get the landmark building repaired.
Specialist Steeplejacks have come over from the UK to take on the 20 week project to repair the fifteen foot iron cross on the top and the surrounding granite stonework.
Jersey's Roman Catholic Dean says work on the spire had to be done due to its critical state.
Canon Dominic Golding told ITV News that they have almost reached their £1.3 million target.

The work began at the start of the year and is expected to be complete by early November.
