Citizens Advice Guernsey see increase in people looking for support

Guernsey's Citizens Advice dealt with nearly 12,000 issues in 2019 - 6% higher than the year before.

The figures come from the organisation's annual report, which says people's lives are becoming more and more complex.

Their money advice service helped 137 new people who had debts of £4.3 million.

More than 4,000 people in Guernsey got general advice from the charity, with the majority of advice being given over the phone.

The charity saw people volunteer 20,000 hours of their time during the year.
