Jersey police to crack down on speeding drivers
Jersey police are cracking down on speeding drivers as part of a new campaign.
'Operation Canvas' has been launched due to the number of speeding complaints the force has received since the start of the pandemic.
It follows a push to catch anyone breaking road traffic laws at the end of June, which saw several vehicles taken off the roads.
Now the Constable of St John, Chris Taylor, is calling on the government to enable the Honorary Police to use speed cameras, and to also bring in stricter sentences for those found guilty of travelling 30 miles per hour or more over the limit.
That will be debated in the States on 8 September.
