St Helier House in Jersey is to become social housing.

The Constable of St Helier has confirmed the Parish will team up with Andium Homes to provide affordable accommodation.

Some of the new homes will be placed in Parish ownership and be used to deliver a sheltered housing scheme for town residents.

A time frame for the work is yet to be decided and proposals will need to be approved by the Parish Assembly, the Board of Andium Homes and, ultimately the Planning Department.

Once an agreement has been made, plans to demolish St Helier House will progress.

The redevelopment will include a new facility for the Westmount Day Nursery.
