Replica Rolls Royce installed at Jersey's Samares Manor
Children in Jersey can now drive in style thanks to a new fixture at Samares Manor.
A replica Rolls Royce, known as Rolly, has been erected in the play area in the Manor’s grounds.
The Seigneur of Samares Manor says he hopes it will bring joy to families after a difficult few months.
The car is an homage to his mother Elizabeth Knott who owned a Rolls Royce in the 1930’s.
In 1936, when she found herself a widow at just 30 years old, Elizabeth decided it was time for an adventure and drove her car from Cairo in Egypt all the way back to Jersey.
The life-size model was made at Five Oaks Ironworks. It was transported to its new home earlier this week and after a few final touches, officially opened to the public this morning (Wednesday 14 July).
