The government of Jersey's response to the coronavirus pandemic will be examined by a joint scrutiny panel.

The Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel and the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel will work together to look at the government's reaction to the crisis and the plan it has set out for economic recovery.

The panels say the decisions the government has taken have had an impact on people in the island, its economy and public finances.

Senator Kristina Moore, who chairs the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel, says it is important to hold the government to account during the crisis.

This was echoed by Deputy Kirsten Morel, from the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel who says thorough scrutiny will provide the best outcome for islanders.

The panels say they want to hear from islanders, business owners, economists, business leaders and bodies representing specific sectors about the challenges that the crisis has presented them with.
