Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of La Vallette.

The proposals, which were put forward in March, include renovating the changing rooms, building a cafe and creating an outdoor public entertainment space.

Vive La Vallette, the group chosen to regenerate the area, says it has made 'positive progress' on the project since March and is continuing negotiations with the States of Guernsey about commercial leases at the site. Although it says building work will not begin until these negotiations have concluded.

The group says it will put forward detailed drawings to States Building Control so that it can receive the permits to begin work on the site.

Viva La Vallette were chosen by the Government last year to regenerate the area as part of a wider scheme to upgrade certain areas in St Peter Port.
