A financial support scheme has been set up to help Jersey's fishing industry.
The Fisheries Support Scheme will run through June and July to help the industry cover costs and prepare for its recovery - while areas of the hospitality sector and export market remain closed.
Jersey's Minister for Economic Development says the island's fishing industry is "in need of short-term assistance" as it is "an important part of Jersey’s economy".
In April Jersey's fishermen warned their industry could be decimated without urgent extra support from the government.
The Minister for Treasury and Resources approved the allocation of up to £233,400 in 2020 from the General Reserve for the Fisheries Support Scheme in June and July.
Businesses in the fishing industry are being contacted with instructions on how to apply.
