Guernsey's government is coming under pressure to further tackle racism on the island.
The Employment and Social Security Committee is urging politicians to adopt new laws, to protect islanders from discrimination.
The Committee's President says for too long, the issue simply has not been a priority.
One resident has told ITV Channel TV that the situation has got better, but work still needs to be done.
The Committee for Employment and Social Security says the debate would have happened already this year had it not been for the coronavirus.
They are now hopeful it will take place next month instead.
