4% of Jersey's population thought to have had Covid-19 - with 62% showing no symptoms

New results from Jersey's antibody testing survey show that 4% of islanders could have had Covid-19, and 62% of those are likely to have had no symptoms.

Statistics Jersey has today published the figures following the second round of the community antibody testing programme - a sample of islanders being tested to estimate the prevalence within the population as a whole.

The survey was conducted on islanders aged over 16 and living in private households, and concluded that approximately 3,600 people who fall into this bracket have had the virus.

Whilst it is anticipated that there may be differences between this population and those who were excluded from this study, applying the estimated prevalence rate to the full island population would equate to approximately 4,500 cases having occurred to date.

The full report can be found here, and you can find out more about the Government of Jersey's testing regime here.
