Guernsey's Director of Public Health: Island must prepare for second wave

Guernsey's Director of Public Health says the island must prepare for a second wave of Covid-19.

That is despite there currently being no active cases in the island.

But Dr Nicola Brink says islanders must be vigilant, as there is no guarantee there will be a vaccine any time soon.

There are concerns about what the impact will be if the virus returns during the winter flu season.

We are two days away from entering phase four of the lockdown exit plan, but it is phase six, with the reopening of borders, that is concerning most islanders.

Dr Brink says she will be keeping a close eye on how the UK's border closures impact their rate of infection.
