Guernsey appoints new Prison Governor
A new Prison Governor has been appointed in Guernsey.
John De Carteret will now permanently take on the role following a nine month stint as Acting Prison Governor.
Mr De Carteret has described himself as "delighted and honoured".
Mr De Carteret joined the Civil Service in 2002 after a career in the private sector. He has held a number of positions across the States, which has included roles in the Courts and Education before moving to Guernsey Prison eight years ago.
Guernsey's Home Affairs Committee President, Deputy Mary Lowe, said Mr De Carteret has "proved how very capable an individual he is" and added "I wish him the very best as he becomes the permanent prison governor at this challenging time".
