A new digital platform is being trialled in Guernsey to help streamline the applications being submitted to the Payroll Co-Sharing Scheme.

The States of Guernsey's technology partner, Agilisys, designed the software, which is being tested this week.

In an interview with ITV News, the States Chief Executive, Paul Whitfield, admitted that delays to payments were hard to avoid at the start of the pandemic, but hopes this new development will help speed up the process.

In the UK, it was announced that the furlough wage scheme has beenextended until October. When asked if Guernsey's Payroll Co-Sharing Scheme - currently in place until the end of June - would follow suit, he said "of course".
