Delay to appointment of designers of Jersey's new hospital
The appointment of a design and delivery partner for Jersey's new hospital has been delayed, but the Assistant Chief Minister says this will not stop building work starting on time.
In a statement to Jersey States Assembly, Senator Lyndon Farnham said the design and delivery partner will now be appointed in mid July.
He said the delay was down to health officials' focus being on the coronavirus pandemic, and they needed more time to do 'due diligence' on delivery partners. It was due to be announced in early April.
He also told the States Assembly the build would still start in Spring 2022 as planned, as they would no longer seek outline planning permission before going for full planning approval.
Timetable for Jersey's General Hospital:

November: States Assembly will debate and vote on preferred site
