St Helier's Liberation Day celebrations to take place online

The Parish of St Helier's Liberation Day plans will now take place online.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the three-day street celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of Liberation will not be able to go ahead in the usual way.

Instead, the St Helier Town Centre & Events Facebook page will be posting a number of videos for everyone to enjoy.

The entertainment will include:

  • 12:00: Jersey Lilies

  • 12:15: Liberation cocktail 'how to' TBC

  • 12:30: Maisie Robertson, former Parish Ambassador - 3 songs

  • 12:45: Geraint Jennings reading in Jèrriais

  • 13:00: Lindy Hoppers Video 1

  • 13:15: TTW showcase TBC

  • 13:30: The Jersey Wonderer - Making Wonders

  • 13:45: Love Theatre TBC

  • 14:00: Performers 'how to' instruction video

  • 14:15: Bean Croc video TBC

  • 14:30: Parish Ambassadors' readings

  • 14:45: Lindy Hoppers Video 2

  • 15:00: Address from the Constable of St Helier

  • 15:15: Instagrammer music set TBC

  • 15:30: Progressive School of Music's Showcase TBC

  • 15:45: Event TBC

  • 16:00: Finale and singalong with Scott Livingstone

In order to get into the spirit, islanders are being encouraged to put bunting up, at their homes ready for the big day on Saturday 9 May.
