Guernsey's waste sites to reopen
Guernsey's waste sites will reopen from Monday (27 April).
Special measures will be in place to ensure islanders can adhere to the current social distancing guidelines.
Chouet green waste site
People will be able to take their green waste to the Chouet site from Monday.
Mont Cuet
Islanders can take commercial green waste to Mont Cuet from Monday.
Longue Hougue
There will be a temporary drop off point for household green waste at Longue Hougue from Monday.
Islanders can take commercial green waste to Longue Hougue Land Reclamation site from Monday.
Household recycling (HWRC) will reopen at Longue Hougue next Thursday (30 April) but only for items that cannot be collected by kerbside recycling:
Scrap metal
Rigid plastics
Electrical equipment
Inert waste
Items that can disposed of via the kerbside collections will not be accepted:
Batteries
Domestic appliances
Wooden/material furniture
Mattresses
Those that need to be paid for, such as black bags
These items are unable to be disposed of at the temporary sites because they have had to be reorganised to ensure safety measures are followed.
Opening times:
The Chouet site, Mont Cuet Landfill site: 8am - 4pm Monday to Saturday
Green waste at Longue Hougue: 8am - 4pm Monday to Saturday
Household recycling at Longue Hougue: Open from Thursday 30 April, 8am - 4pm Monday to Saturday. Except it will be closed on Thursdays.
