Review into Guernsey's Island Development Plan shelved
A five-year review into Guernsey's Island Development Plan has been shelved because of the coronavirus pandemic.
As the island's leaders try to plan for Guernsey's phased approach out of lockdown, the health and economic effects of Covid-19 are still largely unknown.
It is expected the States of Guernsey will have to refocus its priorities and policies across island governing.
Development & Planning Authority led the recommendation to pause the review which was supported by the majority of deputies.
The IDP was laid out in 2016 as a 20-year blueprint for planners to follow.
It set out rules for future commercial and housing developments, agricultural and biodiversity zoning.
