'Distance Learning' introduced as Guernsey schools set to remain closed

Schools, colleges and early years providers - including pre-schools, nurseries and childminders - will remain closed in Guernsey.

This will last for the first five weeks of the new term until 31 May, however this date will be kept under constant review.

Children of essential workers will still be able to attend.

Education staff have implemented plans for Distance Learning, and a letter outlining how this will work will be sent to all parents later today.

Parents are being reassured that there is no expectation that they take on the role of teacher during this period, as schools will ensure parentsand students are supported.
