Luke Skywalker actor thanks Jersey politician for Star Wars mask offer
The force was strong for Deputy Kevin Pamplin this Easter Bank Holiday.
While out on the beach, the St Saviour Deputy posted a picture on Twitter wearing a Star Wars-themed mask, to adhere to new recommendations that islanders should use face coverings when outdoors.
That tweet, reached galactic highs of the Twitter world, by gaining the attention of none other than Luke Skywalker himself.
Deputy Pamplin asked Mark Hamill - the actor who plays the famous Jedi Knight - if he would like a spare Star Wars face mask.
However, the actor decided against taking up the offer from the Jersey politician, saying he should "give it to a loved one" instead.
The latest recommendations on wearing cloth face coverings comes from Jersey's Medical Officer of Health, Dr Ivan Muscat.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently said it is looking into the effectiveness of face-masks for the public.
