Resist good weather and stay home, says Jersey's government

Islanders are being asked to resist the temptation to make the most of this weekend's good weather, and stay at home instead.

Despite highs of 17 degrees being forecast for this Sunday, Jersey's government is reiterating its advice on social distancing and lockdown - both have been put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus and, as a result, save lives.

People should only leave their homes for two hours a day for one of three reasons:

  • When shopping for food, medicine and other essentials

  • For daily exercise including walking, cycling, running and caring for animals (including walking dogs)

  • For medical needs, including providing care to a vulnerable person

While out, you should two metres from anyone outside your own household and continue to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene.

Gatherings of more than two people in public places are prohibited, except where all members of the group are from the same household.

You should also not have visitors, such as friends and family, in your home.
