‘Please don’t give up on it now’ Guernsey blood donors asked to keep donating

People are being asked to keep donating blood in Guernsey as long as they are not showing coronavirus symptoms.

Guernsey’s Medical Director has said that people should not be concerned if they have been asked to donate blood.

Last week visitors and outpatients were banned from going to the hospital in Guernsey to help curb the spread of coronavirus.

Now blood donors are being reassured that it is still safe to donate and that travelling to give blood is considered an essential journey.

All donors will be screened and should not visit if they are self isolating or showing coronavirus symptoms.
