Coronavirus: All cruise ships due in April to Guernsey are cancelled
All cruise ships to Guernsey have been cancelled until the end of April, at the earliest, due to travel restrictions following the coronavirus outbreak.
The first cruise ship of the season, the Fridtjof Nansen, was meant to have arrived on 20 March but was cancelled earlier this month as a precautionary measure following advice from Guernsey’s Public Health.
Now nine other cruise liners that would have docked in Guernsey in April have been cancelled.
Three others have also cancelled their visits in May, with others expected to follow.
The P&O Britannia, which was the largest vessel set to visit in April carrying more than 4,000 people, was due to arrive on 18 April. However P&O has temporarily suspended all new cruise operations until 11 April.
The MS Queen Victoria, operated by Cunard, was also meant to visit in April. Cunard has suspended all its bookings until 11 April and offered cruisers a 125% cruise credit.
