Roads closed and other disruption as Storm Ciara hits Channel Islands
Roads were closed in both Jersey and Guernsey and other travel disruption is expected as Storm Ciara continues hitting the Channel Islands.
Jersey's Victoria Avenue was shut west-bound until 9:30am, and La Rue de la Frontiere in St Mary is also out of action because of a fallen power line.
In Guernsey, three roads are closed - Le Route de Sausmarez in St Martins and Rue du Tertre in Catel due to fallen trees, and the Cobo coast road as water and debris are crashing over the sea wall.
Islanders are being asked to avoid all coastal areas, as wind speeds are predicted to reach Gale Force 10.

Schools are open as normal, however school bus routes 43, 777 and network route 7 will not be able to call between St Mary's Garage and Six Road. These affected buses will pick up from Carrefour Selous instead.
Condor sailings have been cancelled, and further disruption is expected for both sea and air travel.
A Flybe plane from Exeter was struck by lightning over the islands, causing the pilot to turn back. It landed safely and none of the 64 passengers on board were hurt.
Disruption has also caused to bus services in Jersey due to the closure of Victoria Avenue.
LibertyBus' Route 15 services to Jersey Airport at 9:30am and 10.15am were cancelled, as were two Route 1 services from Gorey. Fallen trees also needed to be cleared from several routes.
St Helier's Honorary Police took to social media to thank motorists for their patience while Victoria Avenue was closed.
The States of Guernsey called for islanders to avoid the west coast where possible and to be aware of any debris which may land on the roads.
