Jersey U21 boss impressed by 'abundance of talent' despite NI schoolboys defeat

Jersey's new U21 manager says there is an 'abundance of talent' in island football, despite seeing his side beaten by Northern Ireland Schoolboys in their annual showpiece.

Former island boss David Kennedy took charge of the squad for the first time as the visitors retained the Lynne Nicholson Memorial Trophy with a 3-0 victory at Springfield.

After a goalless first-half, they struck twice in quick succession early in the second, captain Trai Hume with a penalty followed by a swift breakaway goal from James Teelan.

Hume added a spectucular third from distance in the closing stages to maintain their perfect record in the fixture.
