Islanders wanted to share Jersey's Occupation stories with next generation

The organisers of Jersey's Liberation Day 75th anniversary celebrations are looking for islanders who lived through the Occupation to share their stories with younger generations.

Operation Outreach wants to give young people the opportunity to hear directly from those who were there in question and answer sessions at every school in the island.

The hour-long sessions will be given to students in years 6, 8, 10 and 12 in all of the island's schools, allowing them to ask about everything from food and drink to their interactions with German soldiers.

Deputy Kevin Pamplin, who was involved in organising last year's celebrations, says it is important step recognise the milestone and help keep the memory of Liberation Day alive.

Anyone who wants to be a part of the project, or knows someone who might want to be involved, should contact the Liberation 75 team at hello@liberation75.je.
