CI Sports Awards 2019: Jersey star becomes third Champion of Sport

Jersey netball star Serena Guthrie has just become the third recipient of the Channel Islands ‘Champion of Sport’ award.

The England captain at last year’s home Netball World Cup, she joins Guernsey’s Andy Priaulx and Heather Watson after picking up the prize at the Betway CI Sports Awards 2019.

Guthrie, who has been capped 98 times by her country - and helped the Roses to a historic maiden Commonwealth gold medal in 2018, won a public vote last year to be crowned Channel Islands Sports Personality of the Year.
