Channel Islands make headlines as top destination to visit

The Channel Islands have hit the headlines as a top destination to visit in 2020.

Not only has Jersey been voted one of the top destinations in Europe for a walking break, Guernsey has also received a glowing report as an 'old favourite'.

But what makes the islands so special?

According to the Condé Nast Traveller magazine, a walking trip in Jersey is better than one at the Dolomites in the Alps, Lake Constance and the Highlands of Scotland.

It is not just the great coastal hikes that get a mention. The publication says the island serves up 'fabulous food' for visitors to enjoy.

Meanwhile, Guernsey has been recognised by The Times newspaper as one of the best places to take a holiday in 2020.

It follows a recent tourism campaign from Visit Guernsey to encourage more people to visit.
