Special guest announced for Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards 2019

Former Wales rugby star Scott Quinnell has been confirmed as the special guest for the Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards 2019.

The Llanelli legend was capped 52 times during his career, played three times for the British & Irish Lions in Australia, and represented his country during a brief spell in rugby league.

Since retiring in 2005, Quinnell has worked as a pundit and commentator and starred in Sky's School of Hard Knocks series.

The awards, which are broadcast live on ITV Channel TV, are being held at Beau Sejour in Guernsey on Thursday 30 January.

Jersey and England netball star Serena Guthrie was crowned Betway Channel Islands Sports Personality of the Year for 2018.

This year's shortlists will be announced in early January with the top award decided by public vote and four other prizes settled by a panel of judges.
