Obesity figures not improved over last decade in Jersey
The number of obese people in Jersey has not improved over the last ten years.
The Obesity, Diet and Physical Activity Profile 2019 has revealed 1 in 6 adults in Jersey are obese, which is similar to the 2008 figure.
It also highlighted that the number of adults classified as obese increased with age.
The report states that only half of adults met the NHS guidelines of at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week.
The 2018/19 Jersey Child Measurement Programme provided the following data for the report.
In 2018 nearly half (46%) of Year 6 boys and a third (30%) of Year 6 girls had spent three hours or more looking at electronic screens.
