Islanders to march against sexual violence as part of rape charity campaign
Islanders will march against sexual violence tonight, as part of a local charity campaign.
The 'Take Back the Night' walk has been organised by Jersey Action Against Rape (JAAR), which supports victims of sexual assault and their families.
The walk will start at the Royal Square at 6pm and move through the town centre.
Teal ribbons will be worn by those taking part, and there will also be a one minute silence to demonstrate support to all those who have been affected by rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or childhood sexual abuse.
Statistics show that one in three women, and one in six men, worldwide experience some form of sexual violence. Less than 50% of victims report these crimes.
