The Channel Islands largest solar panel system is switched on
The largest group of solar panels in the Channel Islands is now up and running in Guernsey.
The panels belong to Guernsey Electricity and are on the roof of Guernsey Post's headquarters, Envoy House.
The project is the first step in Guernsey Electricity’s introduction of community scale renewable generation.
There are 654 panels and they'll generate more than 200,000kWh each year. That's enough to power the entirety of Guernsey Posts' fleet of electric vehicles, with some to spare.
